What ETHICS means?
Importance of Ethics in Research
- To promote aim of research i.e. Expansion of Knowledge.
- To support the value require for the collaborative work.
- To protect data, anonymity of the subjects, and confidentiality, and the ability to build trust-based relationship with the respondents and retain it.
- To protect research participants’ rights and welfare, and reduce the risk of physical and psychological discomfort, damage, and/or threats appearing because of research procedures.
- To protect the rights of the researchers to carry out a lawful research and reputation of the university implementing or supporting research.
- To get the funds and publish your work in a reputed journal.
- To make the researcher accountable for their research.
- To enhance the trust of society in the results.
- To support the important moral and social values.
Research Ethics
1. Honesty (ईमानदारी):
- Honestly report data, results, methods and procedures, and publication status. Do not fabricate, falsify, or misrepresent data.
2. Objectivity (निष्पक्षता):
- Strive to avoid bias in experimental design, data analysis, data interpretation, peer review, personnel decisions, grant writing, expert testimony, and other aspects of research.
3. Carefulness (सतर्कता):
- Carefully and critically examine your own work and the work of your peers. Keep good records of research activities.
- Avoid careless errors and negligence;
4.Integrity (अखंडता):
- Keep your promises and agreements; act with sincerity; strive for consistency of thought & action.
5. Communicate results (परिणाम संप्रेषित करें):
- Publish in order to advance research and scholarship, not to advance just your own career.
- Avoid wasteful and duplicative publication.
6. Respect for Intellectual Property (बौद्धिक संपदा का सम्मान):
- Honor patents, copyrights, and other forms of intellectual property.
- Do not use unpublished data, methods, or results without permission.
- Give credit where credit is due.
- Never plagiarize.
7. Confidentiality (गोपनीयता):
- Protect confidential communications, such as papers or grants submitted for publication, personnel records, trade or military secrets, and patient records.
8. Openness (स्पष्टता):
- Share data, results, ideas, tools, resources. Be open to criticism and new ideas.
9. Responsible Mentoring:
- Help to educate, mentor, and advise students.
- Promote their welfare and allow them to make their own decisions.
10. Social Responsibility (सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व):
- Strive to promote social good and prevent or mitigate social harms through research, public education, and advocacy.
11. Non-Discrimination (निष्पक्षता):
- Avoid discrimination on the basis of sex, race, ethnicity, or other factors that are not related to their scientific competence and integrity.
12. Human Subjects Protection (मानव विषय संरक्षण):
- When conducting research on human subjects, minimize harms and risks and maximize benefits; respect human dignity, privacy, and autonomy.
13. Competence (सक्षमता):
- Maintain and improve your own professional competence and expertise through lifelong education and learning; take steps to promote competence in science as a whole.
15. Animal Care (पशु देखभाल):
- Show proper respect and care for animals when using them in research. Do not conduct unnecessary or poorly designed animal experiments.
14. Legality (वैधता):
- Know and obey relevant laws & institutional and governmental policies.
