- Synopsis is the gist of the planned project submitted for approval from competent authorities.
- It is like an outline or a blueprint of the entire research process.
- It describes what the researcher intends to do, why and how.
- It provides a reader/fund providers/reviewers a summary of the whole project.
- It is written at the beginning of a research, before the research actually begins.
- It is precis in length, but include all major points.
Purpose of writing A Research Proposal/Synopsis
- To get ethical clearance.
- For formal registration to universities for the award of a degree.
- For peer review.
- For taking financial assistance from funding agencies.
- To provide a detailed description of the proposed research/project.
